Faculty and graduate students are strongly encouraged to use the tool as a pre-submission check of papers and proposals. IThenticate is available to S&T faculty, staff, and graduate students – free of charge. iThenticate helps editors, authors, and researchers prevent misconduct by comparing manuscripts to its database of over 43 billion web pages and 130 million content items, including 38 million works from 530 scholarly publishers. It is the leading provider of professional plagiarism detection and prevention technology used worldwide by scholarly publishers, funding agencies, and researchers to ensure the originality of written work before publication. It will generate similarity reports by comparing submitted work to previously published work. At the top, you will see the Folders tab, which is the default tab. When you login with those credentials, you will be prompted to enter your own unique password. IThenticate is a similarity detection tool from the same company that provides Turnitin. Once your account is created, you will receive an email from iThenticate with a temporary login.
